For as long as I can remember, I never knew what I wanted to “be” when I grew up. All throughout my childhood and teenage years, people continued to ask me and I still never had an answer. All I ever wanted was to be happy. I never identified with a “career” and under the stress of trying to figure it out, I lost my sense of happiness.

I became one of the most miserable people you can imagine. I made many, many mistakes that I am not proud of and my life was steering in a direction that was definitely not happy. As it began to spiral out of control, this was when I began to realize that as a child I was right about what I wanted to “be”. I wanted to be happy, but it takes more than a “want” to get where we want to be. To be happy, one has to make the choice to be happy; wanting will never get anyone anywhere.

Your career choice is not what you are, it is a means to help you be who you want to be. When I made the choice to be happy, I knew that it involved freedom and traveling. Thus, internet marketing became my career choice that is my means to make being a digital nomad a reality.

How you are feeling is what you are. An internet marketer is not what I am – happy is what I am. What do I do for a living? I am happy. I live because I am happy. What are you?
